Drilling & Stabilization Services
Our Partnership
with Power Drilling & Stabilization
To assist us with the wide array of shoring requirements around the Lower Mainland, we often partner with the team at Power Drilling and Stabilization Ltd.
Power Drilling and Stabilization Ltd was established in 2014 to accommodate the demand for the pipe pile and cased hole anchoring systems needed to complete our jobs. Under the umbrella of Power Civil Contractors, Power Drilling and Stabilization offers unique drilling expertise and stabilization services.
Led by skilled staff with over 30 years of experience in pipe pile installation, seismic anchors, vertical and overhead shotcrete, as well as large stabilization projects, they also take their knowledge a step further, as they work to improve the safety of slopes above highways and other similar projects.
Their Drilling and Installation Services include:
- Pipe Piles (up to 10.5” diameter)
- Seismic Anchors and Micro-Piles
- Cased Hole Anchors
- Slope Stabilization, Rock Scaling, Rock Anchors and Mesh
All of this is accomplished with the use of a powerful, specialized hydraulic rig, different from the usual air track drilling machines.
Hydraulic Rig Benefits
Though hydraulic rigs tend to be a little more expensive and slower than air track drilling machines, they provide the precise drilling and stabilization often required on many shoring projects. In fact, many engineers are mandated to use this type of system, in order to reduce risk factors when drilling near live utilities and services.
This kind of hydraulic rig provides the best stability because it installs an advanced steel casing while drilling, to continuously support the drill hole. This clear, stabilized hole is further supported by an inner rod that can be retracted to allow for easy installation of the anchor bar.
Other key benefits include:
- Continuously supported cased holes – No risk of hole collapse when working with poor soil conditions
- Very accurate cased holes – The risk of anchor bar/drill steel deflection when drilling is effectively eliminated
- Easier drilling than conventional machines- Can drill through rock and boulders, up to depths of 100 feet
